چکیده
Ketta H., Ryšánek P., Zouhar M. (2012): Detection of Polymyxa graminis in a barley crop in the Czech Republic. Plant Protect. Sci., 48: 65–71. Polymyxa graminis Led. was detected in the roots of barley plants from a field in the Hradec Králové Region (northeastern Bohemia) in May 2008. The fungus was identified as P. graminis on the basis of the morphology of resting spores (cystosori) and sporangia and the size of individual cystosori in roots without staining. The presence of P. graminis in the roots of plants grown in the soil samples was verified by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay.

Relation between nitrogen nutrition index and production of spring malting barley
Although the nitrogen nutrition index (NNI) is a widely used indicator of plant nitrogenstatus, no model of NNI calculation for spring barley (Hordeum vulgare) reflecting also specificmalting requirements on grain has been published. The aim of this study was to determinean optimal range of the nitrogen nutrition index (ratio of nitrogen concentration in shootbiomass to critical nitrogen concen...

Population surveys of Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei (Bgh), a causal agent of more than 50% of barley fungal infections in the Czech Republic, have been traditionally based on virulence tests, at times supplemented with non-specific Restriction fragment length polymorphism or Random amplified polymorphic DNA markers. A genomic sequence of Bgh, which has become available recently, enables ident...
متن کاملSerological Methods for Detection of Polymyxa graminis, an Obligate Root Parasite and Vector of Plant Viruses.
A purification procedure was developed to separate Polymyxa graminisresting spores from sorghum root materials. The spores were used as im-munogen to produce a polyclonal antiserum. In a direct antigen coating enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAC ELISA), the antiserum could detect one sporosorus per well of the ELISA plate. In spiked root samples, the procedure detected one sporosorus per mg ...
متن کاملOccurrence and Significance of the Temperate Ribotypes of Polymyxa Graminis
A number of subgroups of Polymyxa graminis have been separated on the basis of their rDNA sequence. Isolates of P. graminis found on temperate cereals can similarly be divided into two subgroups known as ribotypes I and II. Nothing is known about the biological significance of these ribotypes with regard to host range and virus transmission. Initial studies have been directed towards testing of...
متن کاملBiocontrol activity of endophytic fungus of barley, Microdochium bolleyi, against Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici
In this study, two isolates of genus Microdochium (W2 and B26) was isolated from the roots of healthy barley plants in agricultural fields from Kermanshah province in 2014 and were identified as Microdochium bolleyi based on morphological and molecular characteristics. Dual culture studies revealed that W2 and B26 inhibit 45% and 20% of the radial growth of Ggt in tur...
